Many of you may have heard that there will be significant changes to the landmark Sutton Place Hotel at the corner of Bay and Wellesley in the coming years. This is absolutely true because the City of Toronto website reveals plans to convert the hotel into a mixed-use building with 772 residential units and retail units at pedestrian level.
The project plans also detail proposed additions to the structure that will bring it up from 32 stories to 41 stories, and further space at the base of the building by creating an 8-story podium. This would end up comprising of 729 condo units and 43 rental units, along with the retail space.
Improvements will be made to the exterior to also include new cladding and for balconies to be added.

It looks as though Bay St. is not slowing down on construction any time soon! With 1000 Bay, U Condos, Karma, and further proposals in the area on Yonge St., there will be many more residential units sprouting up in the neighbourhood!
